The task was to make a light weight hubguard that would not only protect the hubs, but also won’t affect grinding. Aluminum hubguards strongly slow down grinding touching handrails and ledges, plastic hubguards slide much better, we mean MUCH better. That’s why STRESS decided to make plastic hubguards with a small aluminum nut, reducing the amount of aluminum to a minimum to reduce weight. Due to the swiss plastic that STRESS use, their hubguards are really strong and durable, but even if you manage to brake the plastic part, it can always be replaced.
